{"id":1748,"date":"2021-05-30T17:11:49","date_gmt":"2021-05-30T17:11:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kimberlyninahill.com\/?p=1748"},"modified":"2023-03-31T01:51:08","modified_gmt":"2023-03-31T01:51:08","slug":"am-i-in-a-trauma-bond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kimberlyninahill.com\/staging\/3767\/am-i-in-a-trauma-bond\/","title":{"rendered":"Am I In A Trauma Bond?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Trauma bonding or traumatic bonding is when you are unable to leave a relationship even when your partner is treating you poorly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some signs that you may be in a trauma bond:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your partner is critical of you, but you move towards the tiny bits of affection they give you despite this.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You are stuck in a pattern of highs and lows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can&#8217;t think of positive reasons to stay in the relationship (but you do anyway)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You don&#8217;t know how to find the strength to leave<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You don&#8217;t have a sense of self in the relationship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You don&#8217;t have autonomy or agency in the relationship<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An individual can break the cycle of a trauma bond by being radically honest with themselves and setting firm boundaries.
